An Expressive Safari of Dance and Discovery: Creative Movement & Contemporary
Dancers will plunge into a vibrant, wild world where Camille Saint-Saëns’ classic suite comes to life through rhythm and physics. The day begins with an engaging contemporary and creative movement warm-up designed to stretch their bodies and expand their physical vocabulary.
Campers will explore animal dynamics, from the heavy, grounded stomps of the elephants to the fluid, floating leaps of the swans—learning how to control their weight, space, and energy. Striking the perfect balance between professional-level instruction and age-appropriate excitement, this technical training challenges their coordination while empowering them to use their entire bodies as tools for artistic expression.
The adventure extends far beyond learning choreography as campers dive into theatrical games and imaginative art projects. Dancers will design and craft their own custom animal-themed props and masks, which they will incorporate directly into their routines later in the day. Following a well- deserved lunch and rest break to recharge their batteries, the afternoon shifts toward collaboration, creative group composition, and performance confidence. By the time parents arrive for dismissal, the children will have woven their new contemporary skills into a spirited, collaborative zoo showcase, leaving them inspired, energized, and deeply connected to the joy of movement.
